Highlights of 2023

• Went on a winter hike with friends in January.

• Made two ski trips during the winter with friends.

• Hosted a Super Bowl party (and was sad that the Eagles lost).

• Hosted a St. Patrick’s Day/March Madness party and perfected my scone baking skills.

• Traveled to Florida in March and visited Universal Studios.

• Visited family in Ponte Vedra.

• Created the fourth annual Aughie Madness video.

• Celebrated Easter with family.

• Celebrated Rachel and Colin’s wedding.

• Played music for the spring Frassati retreat.

• Successfully navigated an escape room.

• Visited my parents for Mother’s Day.

• Saw Taylor Swift in concert over Memorial Day weekend and coordinated with my sister and her friends to each dress up as one of the eras (I was the debut album).

• Said goodbye to Carly and Brett when they moved away.

• Experienced very weird weather conditions in June due to the Canadian wildfires…my office was dark at midday due to all the smoke.

• Saw Ed Sheeran in concert.

• Helped plan and lead a Frassati pilgrimage to Italy, walking in the footsteps of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. It was an incredible experience! We visited Rome, Assisi, Turin, the Valle d’Aosta, Cogne, Oropa, and Pollone. We were able to visit with Wanda Gawronska and other Frassati family members, and we also got to be there during Pier Giorgio’s feast day, so there were several special events and Masses that we had the chance to take part in. We did an overnight hike in the Alps with breathtaking views. It was an incredible pilgrimage!

• Celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Frassati Fellowship of NYC with a summer barbecue.

• Had a summer pool party/barbecue at my parents’ house…it was beautiful weather for most of the day, though it rained toward the end, but we got a great rainbow!

• Went to Br. Jan’s final vows in August.

• Saw the Hillbilly Thomists in concert.

• Celebrated Monica’s bachelorette in August with a Parent Trap–themed weekend in the Poconos.

• Attended the Frassati ministry leader retreat.

• Played music for the fall Frassati retreat at Villa in September.

• Watched a decent Notre Dame football season with some highs and a few low moments, most memorably the incredibly depressing Ohio State game. But we finished with an improved record compared to last year and a bowl win at the end!

• Attended a Eucharistic procession through midtown Manhattan.

• Celebrated Monica and Angelo’s wedding in October.

• Moved into a new apartment in November.

• Traveled to Notre Dame for my birthday weekend and enjoyed an Irish victory over Wake Forest with my parents and friends. Also got to introduce the Chmiel kids to Notre Dame and had them cheering for the Irish!
