Our last day in Mexico City was simple and pleasant, a nice way to wrap up our trip. We started, as usual, with breakfast at the hotel, and then we went to the church down the street (Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Sagrado Corazón) for a peaceful morning of Adoration and Mass. Kelly and I did music for Mass one last time…I remember I got distracted and forgot to come in for one of the Mass parts, but other than that, everything went smoothly!
We had an hour or so to get all our suitcases packed and to bring them downstairs, and then we loaded up the bus to drive to the airport.
Once we’d arrived at the airport and made it through security, a group of us went to a Mexican restaurant. I was able to use up the rest of my pesos on lunch.
We waited at the gate for a while because our flight was delayed.
On the flight home, our entire row watched Inside Out and synced our screens so that we were at about the same point in the movie (just a few seconds apart). We arrived at JFK tired but content, went through customs, and said our goodbyes at baggage claim.

Overall, it was an amazing pilgrimage, and I’m so glad I had the chance to go!
I’ll finish with this awesome video my friend Matt put together this awesome video of highlights from our trip:
